Lets have a poll, I can't afford one of these yet but I keep hearing how good they are, So do i put it on my credit card or wait for my bonus in Feb ?

Two other questions do they come with diff exhaust tips?
Do they affect your insurance?

Having heard fieldl's - YES!

Insurance? Dunno. You'd have to declare it. Some insurers only load the premium if it raises bhp by 5% or more.

I have some nice vid clips from VMax yesterday. One of a 997C4S with a PSE taking off on full gas and another of a 997C2S (Flying Trotter) with a Tubi doing the same.

The age old PSE vs. Tubi... Based on what I heard its no contest - Tubi every time!! thumbup

Will post once I can download onto my PC.

They sound hollow and artificial,i had one on my C4S .. ...Tubi, a lot better imo as the n/a 996 is definately too quiet with standard pipes...also this whole switch idea seems a bit ridiculous to me...its like the kids taking the baffles out of their mopeds to make them sound loud(with no performance gain!).Its a Porsche and the thought of a switch to make it sound louder, and therefore presumably faster seems a bit boy-racerish to me.imho of course.eek

Ditto, ditto and ditto - do it this instant, get an independant to supply and fit it and forget the switch to save heaps of cash in both cases.

You can reuse the original exhaust tips or treat yourself to some shiny new ones in a different style so everyone can see where the noise is coming from ! (I have a 996 , not sure about new tips on 997s)

Could it be that the switch is actually there to make it quieter when you return home late at night?

Have you not got an independant nearby ? It's going to be expensive and they will only fit it with the switch and electronic valve.
