Got the tracking done today ....

...and what a difference it's made.
The car has had a lot of messing done to the suspension since I got it and it was "all over the place" to drive.
Went to the local tyre depot with the setting for the car.
The boss came out of the office to do the car for me (he reckoned it was best not to let the man in the workshop near it).
He got me to come in under the car with him and he went through it and set it up right in the middle of the tolerance range.
I took the long way home along a twisty back road and what a difference it made.
The car now goes where I point it without having to fight with the steering wheel all the way.
I'm getting the car set up exactly how I want it and it is getting better all the time.
I reckon there is some fun driving to come for me

Thanks, might try them for my 2000 4.5. I locked all four wheels in a heroic attempt to try and avoid an accident a week ago, and since then my tracking seems to be out.
Have never set the tracking from scratch before, just made small adjustments to get it perfect, but when you don't know which way everything moved and without tracking equipment its difficult to set a benchmark to start from.
Never understood why tracking equipment is so expensive for a home user to buy.

sounds good .. i must get mine sorted ...
when offords did mine last time it did feel better but the tyres then only lasted 4k miles on the front
inner edge scrubbed clean away ...
mine must be miles out now as no scrubbing as yet (and yes Ive mucked around with everything on the front to louse it up!)

A mate of mine had the old Paddy Hopkirk gauges with the folded pieces of metal, the bunjee straps and the measuring tape.
It cost very little as it was so basic.
We used it for years and got the toe-in or toe-out pretty much spot-on on various cars.
He was also able to set the camber pretty good with a spirit level (I never quiet got the hang of that).

The negative camber will eat the inside of the tyres.

The tint isn't that high percentage!
What colour is yours? we think ours is Daytona yellow not 100% though

The paint code isn't in the handbook where it should be but I've got the code and name written down somewhere.
I think it's either Sunrise Yellow or Sunburst Yellow.
If, and when, I find it I'll post it on here.

I finally thougtht of looking, Dan.
It's called "Sunset Yellow" on mine.
They are very similar, though.
