I can smell "pernod" similar to coolant from under the bulkhead of my 996tt. Anyone got any ideas?

Most likely minor split in the header tank or the cap....

Make sure to only drink it in the morning so as not to be told off by the French...

is there any particular reason why you were sniffing under your bulkhead in the first place?

Because he smelt Pernod?

996 header tanks and pressure caps are a known weakness, costs about £200 to fix at an indie if that's what it is. Watch out for the flashing red light in the temp guage after a good thrashing or any water leaking around the nearside rear wheel.
