Any medium format types here?
Discussion
I have had one of these for a while, but haven't really used it a great deal.
I went out and took a few rolls with it the other day, and found it quite a nice change. I found it requires a totally different style of shooting to a modern SLR. A few people made comments and asked what it was - one bloke though I was surveying.
I'll try to post a few pics if I can get them scanned.

I started out on a Bronica Etrsi. Loved it, but it was a major event every time I used it, whereas now, you just grab the camera bag (one of 3 depending on lens choice or requirements) and go. The roll film compared to digi was a massive difference, but then the quality and sharpness were amazing.

I think the fact that it takes some effort to use is what I like. I find it forces me to slow down and think more about what I'm doing. It's easy with an (especially digital) SLR to blast off loads of shots in the hope that a few are good.
Horses for courses I suppose, but you are right about the quality. Enlargements look amazing.

Got first film back from the xpan..colour and sharpness are off the scale, what an amazing tool!

Thought you'd gone for the old square format, did you do an Xpan as well then?
My dad still uses his 500CM and after 25 years all still seems to be functioning beautifully but a very challenging format to shoot in as we are so used to the more usual rectangular picture layout.
I have dabbled with medium format through Mamiya 645 and then a Mamiya 7 but long term I found that for my particular favourite subject matter 35mm is still the best tool for me to use.

I got a 503cw (80mm, 150mm, with a 50mm to be added soon), a metered prism, 2 a12 mags and a polaroid back, and an xpan 2 with a 45mm and will add a 90mm onto that soon. Gotta buy a load more filters and a whole herd of other crap but i think it will be fun!
