Nice one guys. So to sum it up BEC's and the modern Duratecs etc... can achieve decent (30mpg) fuel economy figures if driven sensibly.
However if such a car is to be driven like this you will be banished from PH's forever
Oh and when I take my BEC on a track day I will need to refuel several times.

It's not that bad. I recently did a trackday with three of us sharing my blade engined car, and it was thrashed mercilessly for hours. We managed to slurp up about 60 litres of fuel, so that's two refuelling sessions.
