Been a while since I've had one of these PITA's. Last time the lady turned up and I asked her for ID. She said "no one's asked me for that before" to which I replied "and I've never asked anyone before". Following which I put her in a cold office and made sure that no one offered to maker a tea/coffee. She didn't like me very much! hehe

Anyway, I reckon that was about 6 or 7 years ago. Has anything changed in the meantime? Are they looking for anything else than the norms (petty cash, car mileage, eating out, etc..?) Got nothing to hide, but don't want to be caught out.

Cheers Eric. As ever, very helpful!

Self Employed sub-contractors and general "Employment v' Self Employment" issues, OKAY ON THAT FRONT I'M PRETTY CERTAIN ABOUT! BUT THERE IS ONE PERSON WHO I WILL DOUBLE-CHECK. THANKS.

national minimum wage infractions, NO PROBLEMS THERE (SAD TO SAY )

SSP and SMP errors, SSP = 'STATUARY SICK PAY'? - I'M OKAY THERE. WHAT IS 'SMP' (MATERNITY?)

undeclared or underdeclared Benefits in Kind or incorrectly completed Benefit in Kind/Expenses Declarations (P11ds), PROBABLY OKAY THERE OTHER THAN I REGULARLY TAKE DEPARTMENTS OUT FOR LUNCH AND WE DO LOTS OF COMPANY 'STUFF' (BBQ's ETC). HOWEVER, THAT IS ALL DECLARED AS FAR AS I'M AWARE. I WILL CHECK THOUGH.

Once again cheers Eric.

SMP - Satutory Maternity Pay.

Employers have such an awful lot of extra admin work which they have to carry out regarding their employees - essentially unpaid donkey work for the authorities.

Tell me about it. However, I buy and sell companies and many vendors are keen to sell because of such government imposed nonsense - which keeps me in business. As such, when I hear about the latest H&S / legislation, etc, I don't know whether to laugh or cry!!
