Front suspension issues

Looking under the car for the first time since its major service about 600 miles ago, it seems that every bush is shot, the car also has a couple of issues such as the inside of the nearside wheel is touching the lower drag strut and has damaged the arm on full lock whereas the offside is clear by a couple of mm. Also where the upper wishbone is attached to the chassis points the edge of the wishbone is rubbing against the edge of the chassis pick up point on both sides, is it meant to be very close here, could it just be due to the bushes being gone? I am planning to replace all the bushes with the new powerflex range of bushes due out next week. This may or may not involve doing a complete chassis strip down at the same time (see other thread).

If I do go down the chassis strip route is there any way for me to check chassis straightness, geometry other than sending it down South to the company that has jigs made up as I am in Aberdeen?

cant you measure and use a cheap laser measure ????

Not entirely sure what you mean, measure what? I guess I could ask them to measure the jigs and compare it to mine although they may not be keen for obvious reasons. I think the chassis is straight and I am just being paranoid as it drives really well even with the bushes shot. I think it is just a case of replacing them and that should hopefully sort out all my issues.

I'd say grab a couple of piccies if you can for people to have a nose at to get a better idea of what you mean.

What condition are your shocks? The standard ones dont last long, mine were replaced at 12k. If I were you I;d replace the shocks and all the buskes, think "Absolutely Shocks" (Do a Google to find it) sell uprated polyurethane bush kits and also Suspension kits (and other places do them to.

PS I dont want to start another 'What are the best Shocks' thread, thtas been done to death on here a million times - so as originator of this thread, and therefore the King and Supreme El Presidente, all advice on makes of shocks is banned !!
