What a waste of time
Discussion
Just got back from Newcastle after driving up from Manchester - to view the ultimate V8S
Cash in hand - sleepless night of anticipation - and -
Lets just say it wasn't ultimate - the biggest thing I bought today was a £50 petrol receipt - damn damn damn -
mint my a**e
dont worry mate - i too went through all this process (www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=10897&f=11&h=0&hw=shnozz) for ages before finding one. Unfortunately, it goes with the territory of there being so few of these cars made. Dont get disheartened - you will find a good 'un and it will most definately be wirth the wait.
BTW - Having had such bad experiences myself I used Rob Ingleby to find me a good one and found him fantastic, as has been echoed many times before and after. Stops you wasting £50 or more inm petrol, as well as a whole day if the car is a dog..........

One of the things i did before viewing cars was to ask for a load of digital pictures of the car at a resonably high quality setting, so that i could zoom in and check for things like paint chips etc. If they refuse then you know it's not worth the trip.

That or they don't have a digital camera

Spent ages looking for mine, my advice is to hang on for a good one.. Nearly got to the stage of saying soddit I'll have it to one I saw just before the one I bought. Would have spent about the same money for a car in far worse condition..
Digital camera idea is good.. Haven't got one myself, but if the car is a long way off its worth getting good snaps taken..
Or use Rob Ingleby..

But it doesn't appear to have appeared on the web site yet. Maybe if you call them?

Ren,
Don't despair, and try to stay objective. The car for you is out there, you just need to find it.
I spent around a year waiting for mine, which met 90% of the (fussy) requirements I had, well worth it in the end, although annoying last summer without a soft-top.
I'd echo the comments on digital pics, I kept sending back requests for specific photos for check everything out, I could probably stick them all together as make a complete colage now!
