Hi All,

Have just put my 3200GT through the 31,000 service and at the same time, had a faulty oil pressure sensor replaced.

On 2 - 3 occassions since then however, the "Error Oil" light has temporarily flashed on and off, and the Oil Presure gauge dipped to halfway and bounced back up again. Each time it happened, I was sat in slow moving traffic and it only happened for approx 5 secs each time.

Is this normal, or do I need to get it checked out?

Cheers

The gauge readding is mentioned in the owners manual and from your description sounds like normal behaviour, but the "Error oil" light doesn't sound normal. I'm sure you've already checked that the oil level is right to the top mark on the stick?

Mine has been running for some time now (20k miles) with what I at first considered to be low oil pressure of around 3 bar at idle but full pressure at >1500 rpm,but it seems this is quite acceptable. I do notice that if I happen to drop the revs too low when moving off the error light can momentarily come on but it has never caused a problem and I have had it checked out a Maserati dealers and they say all is well.

Guys

Many 3200s read 5 bar all the time whether hot, cold, at idle or otherwise which is fine. However, for those that do not, the correct values with hot engine are:

@Idle: >2.5 bar
@6,000 RPM: between 4.5 and 5 bar

hope this helps
