With the looks of a 118d with only twin pipes and big alloys giving the game away, I wonder when these'll be terrorising lane 3 of the M4?

Hopefully they'll stick an M-diff in it. That'd be a laugh.

Straightforward remap tuning has been seeing a solid 375bhp from this engine too. Imagine that in a 1 series
Problem is, its bound to have 18" wheels and sports suspension, so its going to ride like crap. Unless BMW have some new tricks up their sleeves to resolve that..
Looks way better in 3 door form too

Cheers, P

Still looks like a bread van to me regardless whether it has 120bhp or 500bhp.I'm sure it will be fast and a hoot to drive but i don't like it,it just doesn't look right in exactly the same way the X3 doesn't.

There is a story of a man who lived in paris many many years ago and he hated the way the Eifel Tower looked, hated it with a passion... yet everyday he ate at the restaurant on the tower.
...because it was the only place in Paris where you couldnt see it from.

If its ugly all the better... let everyone else see its ugly fat ass as you overtake them!

Yeah, but if I am driving one I couldnt care less what it looks like on the outside - its what it makes you feel on the inside - and a storming great smile is a guarantee....

Bear in mind that the 1-series weighs considerably more than a Z4 and not far off a 3-series.

Tuning potential of the twin-turbo six is supposed to be limited by design, but someone has already had a go. Not sure about its reliability though.

"Munich would love to call the car M1 but..."

Well, how about "1M" then?

I think I missed my vocation...I think they should give me a job....

If its all about speed then why not buy a fast Vauxhall?
But we all know it isn't don't we and i suspect all the voices here who claim to like fat ugly birds don't live with one and wouldn't spend there hard earned on a new one.

Some say you can't see the car from the driver's seat!
