Hi can anyone help me?

When you watch a video on your browser it saves into you'r cache.

so cant you access a video that you watched via your browser and then put it on dvd?

Yes and no.

Yes you could find something that went through your browsers cache and pull the file out of it, transcode it to MPEG2 and then feed it in to a DVD creation program (Nero Burning ROM will do it I belive).

No. I've played around with yoinked YouTube content and to be honest sitting in front of the telly watching a screen full of coloured blocks move around just isn't worth it in terms of the time it takes. Seriously, I cranked the transcoder to full quality and it was still rubbish.

can you suggest a program that will go through the browsers cache and pull it out?

and when i have converted videos i have converted them to dvd, so that they will play on a stanalone dvd player, could i convert them to MPEG2 instead?

So if you wanted to get a video of the web for FREE what whould you recommend, torrent, file sharing etc?

thanks.

Off the top of my head, nope... but I'm sure a quickie in google for "Off-line browsing" or "Cache explorer" would give you something.

MPEG2 = DVD or rather its the format that's hidden inside the .VOB files. Something like FFMEPG (I think their is a Windows version) is one of the best transcoders kicking around for general purpose stuff.

As to where to get stuff for FREE with zero consequences; erm.... nope, not a clue I'm affraid.

DIKO www.vmesquita.com/forum/ will convert avi to DVD format (Vob) and its free.

www.download.com/Sompy-MovieEncoder/3000-2176_4-10517200.html?tag=lst-0-6 Sompy says it will convert many more formats to DVD.

I have used Diko (more sucessful with the v2.23 and NOT the latest version). Sompy I have no experience of, but will have this weekend, when I want to convert lots of mpegs to DVD.

It's not even worth the hassle to watch it on the PC. Transcoding into shite quality evil .flv format may save them on bandwidth charges but it places the site firmly into the "steaming crap" bracket.
