Is the exciting title of this thread.
Which ones do you absolutely hate, detest would gladly kill over?
In my case theres two particularly nasty ones that are angering me.
1) anything to do with "howard" the myopic black weirdo dancin and slithering about on those naff Halifax ads.
2) the Chitty chitty bang bang ad, where the cops are lying in wait with their "tax cams".
This one really gets right up my chuffpipe, cops grinning and rubbing their hands in glee at another victim...sends a nice message i think....
That cops are money grabbing spassers who couldnt detect a burglar in their own bed, so lie in wait for unsuspecting motorists.
Shites! Hate this ad.

Isn't Chitty Chitty Bang Bang tax exempt anyway, being built before 1971?

Anyway, the ads I most detest are the ones that are so badly dubbed from American it's ridicoulous (none of the names spring to mind atm.)

ALL Levi Jeans adverts, and the Halifax ones, the TV licensing ones, anything involving ambulance chasers or loans.

That ESure advert with Michael Winner. It's fine until his ego gets in the way at the end ans he say "i'm really a very good driver, so that's why i'm with Esure" Twat.

And i really like those halifax adverts.

Have you noticed that when a bloke dies without being properly insured his wife's hair turns to ratshit, sort of uncontrollable with wispy bits that won't stay put??

Any advert only showen on cable, channel 5 and ITV during trisha (that covers most of the dodgy loans, dodgy solicitors and double glazing and yes car credit)

The tesco adverts, are we supposed to believe that that stupid old lady and her daughters lives revolve around tesco?

And as has already been said diamond, "Diamond?", yes we know you get cheaper insurance on your for your Rav4, you don't have to ram it down our throats (although I must say the bird with the redish hair in it is quite tasty)

My solution: stop watching TV. Programmes are all cr*p anyway so I only wtch very occasional selected programmes, motor racing, and DVDs.

Oh god yes, that seems to be the trend at the moment, no longer do they go out and make ads, now half the ads are just "outtakes" from when they were filming the real ad (which we never see) or are when someone left a camera running in the creative meeting or when someones telling their friend about the product (and just happens to remember everything about the company

e.g "Hi bob, I just insured by car with "Company", "company X" search through their list of insurers to find you the best deal and with their best buy policy "company X" guarentee if they don't get you the best deal you can shag the bosses daughter why not call "company X" now on their freephone number 0800 xxx xxx, thats 0800 xxx xxx, remember bob, calls may be recorded so that "company X" can improve its service even more if thats possible. remeber you can also find them at companyX.com"

If any of my mates spoke to me like that I would tell them to F**K off, come on does anyone know someone who really speaks to their friends promoting a product, again just like the bloddy tesco ads.

But thats the advertising game, I bet I can name (and probely give you the phone number of) all the irritating ads, but the good ads get forgotten

BTW good site is www.visit4info.com for all info about ads

ALL citroen adverts, i mean what the **** are they all about!?!

if you look in the sniffpetrol archives their is a very funny piece about the C3 'la vie est belle' advert which somes it up perfectly...

and the ads aimed at old people: "hey give us your house and all your money now, and we'll kindly give you £20,000 out of our own pockets, isn't that kind???
and won't your children love you even more if you give them this £20,000 before you die..."

grr, makes me sick that people can get away with this!!!

The young lady is rather tasty though. She can offer me two lump sums on my endowment any day.

All ads. Without exception. They must think punters are brain-dead. Oh... they do.

As soon as I see an ad being pushed at me, I think "why are they trying so hard to sell me something" - if I want to buy something, I'll go and buy it, but not because some twat says 'its great' on telly, in a patronising, insincere, 'were so chummy' voice.

And especially, especially the ones where, after the final product name mention, they come back with the oh-so-witty one liner (possibly with the beloved-of-Carzee derogatory anti-male comment).

"Diamond" - cheap car insurance for women. Fine.

"Lager" - cheap car insurance for men. Blatant sexual discrimination against women.

Also, any of those "we cut our monthly payments from £900 to just £120. FOR THE REST OF OUR LIVES". Muppets.

And, all the overdubbed crap from Europe.

I'm surprised no-one else has mentioned it.

Worst advert: Car locking wheels saying if it had been doing 30 it would have stopped here... before it helps with natural selection of a kid that doesn't know not to play in the road.

Blatent lie, bl**dy annoying and sells the "speed kills" campaign.
