306 alarm

hello, can you help? i have bought an old 306 it has remote central locking and an alarm, i dont have the key to turn off the alarm under the bonnet and the alarm is draining the battery. How can i remove the alarm completely?

You can try and reset it by disconnecting the battery ,put the key in the ignition and turn the ignition on ,then reconnect the battery,this sometimes works .Make sure you know the radio code before you do this if it's on a standard radio.Then if you don't lock it with the fob you shouldn't reset the alarm.

Alarms on 306s are a bugger! Had problems with my old one a few years back - the alarm wouldn't stop going off, even after I removed the battery! Well, not for 2 or 3 hours, anyway. Hope this helps

Isn't the Key for the alarm the ignition/door key, It is on my Xantia.
Failing that, remove the fuse that powers it, let the battery run out and forget it.
Or better still find out what is causing the drain, I doubt it is the Alarm, turn the engine off, open the fuse box/boxes and see what circuits are pulling a load using a multi mete(one lead to ground (bare metal) and the other onto the fuse (normally there is a whole where you look to see if it is blown, stick it in there!)

cheers, i will look for the drain, ive bought myself a dis-car-nect quick release terminal for the mean time.
