White dials back dials

I have all black dials on my Cerb. However my speedo is being repaired at the moment and I have a white dial on loan. And I quite like it and fancy a change.

Are white dials more or less common (sort after)than black ones.

Do you think anyone would be interested in swapping their white set for my back set?

I have the white dials.
I'm not sure but think the white dials seem to be more common, as all the cerbs i looked at had them.

Might have just been the ones i saw though?

Check out Caerbont, the original TVR dial manufacturers or SpeedyCables who are next dooor to them (just stick into Google and it will come up) - both in Wales. Although the original ones are prob not available you might be able to get something pretty close in white from either.

Thanks for the replies. Didn't realise most were white. So I have collectors dials!

I'm not going to buy any but was hoping that a fellow PHer would be up for a dial swap. Just like swap shop really. Noel?

mine are yellow But yes, from my experience most appear to be white

Don't start this. Someone will come on and say they have blue ones and they are quicker than the rest!

I could be interested, however mileages could be an issue and the routing of the oil pressure and coolant temp sensors is a nightmare.

I assumed it would be just a swap over of dials. Why would you need to rerouted the temp sensors etc?

The mileage would have to be changed but plenty of people can do that. And I think the speedos would need to be recalibrated as I have a 4.2 and you have the 4.5.

But if you are really interested I will speak to Andy @ APM (near to us both) to see how feasible it is.

Because the sensor is a mechaniacal one and is fixed to the guage (like my old V8 MGB)

I just fitted a new Leven dash to mine, it took me the best part of the morning to remove/refit the temp gauge as you have to remove the caperillary (sp) tube from the coolant system, then re-route and cable tie back to the chassis. Oh, yes and passing the sensor through the bulkhead was a bloody nightmare!!

Hell yeah!

Dials won't need recalling as long as they are both the same scale, 210 for 210 etc etc.

dont forget that most 4.2s have different speedos to 4.5s ie the top speed on the 4.5 dial is higher (and this isnt a wind up!).

Are you sure they are "white" and not "cream" they made both and they are clearly different!
