Hey OrangeD, according to your Mini Expert magazine, it is a Factory Replacement A Plus 998 engine with High compression press-fit wrist pin piston, CAM4717 camshaft, late A-Plus cylinder head and crankshaft main bearings with central locator tang.

Don't you know!!

Are these any good? Probably not ours if the sheisters we bought the old heap from are anything to go by!

HI SORRY THIS ISN'T A REPLY TO YOUR QUESTION BUT I HAVE A SIMILAR PREDICAMENT THAT YOU MAY HAVE POINTERS FOR.
I AM A MINI MAN - THE SAME MKI FOR 26 YEARS.
I HAVE SPARE ENGINE NO BHM1042E 1*****, WHICH I RECKON IS 1100, ASSEMBLED ON TRANSMISSION. IT HAS EARLIER PINCH CLAMP DISTRIBUTOR MOUNT (NOT PRESS DOWN FORK TYPE), CLOSED CCT TAPPET CHEST BREATHER, INNER CV TYPE DIFF, AND EARLY CLUTCH SLAVE POSITION. NO MANIFOLDS SO I DON,T KNOW CARB FIT.
IS THERE A LIST OF WHAT THE BHM RECON NOS RELATE TO. I.E. ARE THEY REPLICAS OF THE ORIGINAL SPEC OR OF UPGRADED SPEC CURRENT AT DATE OF REMANUFACTURE? THAT IS TO SAY ARE THEY TO BE USED WITH THE ORIGINAL DIZZY/CARB TAG NOS OR LATER ONES??????????????
ANY POINTERS AS TO CARB AND DISTRIBUTOR PART NOS AND/OR SPEC - THERE ARE VARIOUS OPTIONS DEPENDING ON YEAR OF ENGINE.
I HAVE A FEW DIZZIES AND CARBS HANGIN ABOUT SO MAY FIND RIGHT ONES OR I HAVE BOOKS ON THAT STUFF SO IF I GET THE DIZZY AND CARB TAG NOS I CAN HOPEFULLY SORT THE INTERNALS.
