For me, buying a Porsche is not an easy decision, I don't have money to burn, but I have a real passion for the brand and what it stands for. Previously I owned the original Boxter s and ran it for 3 years and clocked up 75000 miles. Last week I picked up my new Boxter s 3.4lt from Porsche Silverstone. It goes almost without saying that the car exceeds all my expectations but more than that, so does the dealership!

From my very first meeting through to delivery it's been the most enjoyable purchase of my life! This may sound like an exaggerated claim but I have never experienced such enthusiastic, passionate, dedicated and caring individuals. As most of you know the ownership experience of a good car can be substantially increased by the after sales service...for example my car was ready early and I needed a four seater for a few days due to family and work commitments. No problem...Robin Simpson the Dealership Principal arranged for me to use a brand new Cayenne!.

In choosing my Boxter I was given 'no nonsense' advice as to what options were best and what were not, what would help with residual value and what wouldn't. The system is not rocket science but it is highly unusual in an age when most businesses can only think about what profit they are going to make today, this week or this month. Porsche Silverstone have taken the long term route to sales and as a result are guaranteed my continued business and recommendations to other Porsche owners existing or potential.

I might have bored some of you before about Silverstone and how good they are, but since this thread gives me the chance to do so again, here goes.....

I've been dealing with Robin for about 10 years now, and must have bought more than 20 cars off him both when he was at Graypaul and now here, and there's no one anything like as good. He was the same as a salesman as he is now, a pleasure to deal with, enthusiastic, and - SHOCK HORROR - always tells the truth, usually in my case about how much I'm likely to lose on each car I buy. This alone makes him unique, but he's a top bloke with it. For any of you who might have read mine and Simonspider's post on the Ferrari Forum about Zero One cars yesterday, it should come as no surprise that their boss was trained by, and used to work for, Robin.

Can't speak for anyone else at Silverstone, but if they're half as good as their boss then why would you buy from another dealership.

OK, advertisement over.

One thing I take issue with - he might have a nice 968CS but he's owned some v dodgy cars along the way. Rust would have been embarassed to be seen on some of them!!

It's great to see that others agree and yes, Robin is certainly an exception to the rule. He told me everything I needed to know including a realistic depreciation projection.

Out of curiosity what was the speck? I live 2 miles down the road from Silverstone Porsche and they do seem OK. Am looking at the Boxster S too.
