By my reckoning 4th gear 70 - 100 in 4 seconds that is the same as a S/C Ro with over 500BHP..

surely the gearing though is in a different league (ie a lot shorter) maybe a like for like comparison would be 3rd in the ro 4th in the panza tank?

Not with a 3.9 diff...Stig

Been using the 70 - 100 sprint in 4th as a comparison between different Ro set ups.

Also the rate at which it gets to 120 is pretty impressive as well.

I make it more like 5 seconds but still very rapid.

I have never really timed the Monaro, makes me want to go out and compare now (on a private road of course!)

Looks rapid but doesn't appear or sound as vicous and earth shattering as a high powered Ro' I think a supercharged VXR or HSV should be able to have it...

I'M gueesing that was not a tuned one as well.

Agree on looks butt ugly IMHO.

Not hyping it but drivers of any Ro with under 450 or so HP will have to work hard to beat one of those in that speed zone. The reference point is that a certain S/C CV8 prior to the most recent mods would take about 4seconds 70 - 100 in 4th according to a certain well known tuner......(I am assuming using 3rd for part of that would change the game quite a bit!)

I was advised to use that metric to assess where I was in terms of performance and therefore potential engine power/torque (anfd perhaps where I need to go next) as a good comparison - good point IMO real world performaance figures are what matter.
