Why does my screen saver not work?

After a fresh install of XP, any of the screen savers now fail to work. Everything else is as it should be, and the SS do work if you preview them but not when its supposed to?

Any one have any idea whats wrong?

They should, just make sure they are in the windows directory and have another go.

They also my need to be BMP files, but not too sure about that.

Have you got a Microsoft mouse?
I had the same problem caused by my mouse, unplug the mouse and see if that helps. If the screensaver then comes on go here -
