turbo busa gear ratios
Discussion
Hi
Has any one on here had the higher ratios fitted to the busa powered car?
I have a 1400cc hyabusa mk with std gears with a cossi diff which is just about ok (which will be up for sale soon) but i have just purchased a hyabusa turbo westfield of a mate with 360 @ wheels and want to make full use of that power and torque it has a freelander diff.Is it possible to use a higher ratio diff and leave the box alone as it has had alot of money already spent on the box.

Id be very suprised if the Freelander coped long term with that kind of power to be perfectly honest, but regardless you can only get a 3.21 ratio I believe so nothing else you can change. If you swapped to a Sierra, the highest diff you can get is a 3.14 and even with that a Busa will still top out at about 135mph with average sized rubber.
A mate of mine has a Turbo Megabusa and he's fitted the higher ratio gears, he's often on the WSCC (his user name is Bazzer) as are one or two other turbo busa owners, so maybe best off asking the question there
