Horrible or DIY do-able (jacks and axle stands)?

Assuming I need pro involvement... what's the going rate? Been quoted £600 all in for a 'big 500 clutch' supplied and fitted. Fair?

someone else will come along soon Pupp, but ive had a look under there and it can def be done d.i.y helps if your a bit spanner handy,4 axle stands a must, exhaust off, standard RWD otherstuff,if your good round that bike of yours this job shouldent give you any problems,if you struggle to get the box back under no circumstances let it hang on the input shaft while you get your strength back, dont take it your have it done in a couple of hours though, take your time do it right.failing that have someone else do the donkey work, ring around just dont use any one who dont know these cars ,but you already know that.

I did mine so its defiantly do-able. 4 axial stands, exhaust out, then the gear box. The biggest problem is the remote linkage as the tunnel top has to come out so you can see. Then take out the bell housing (assuming you have got a T5 box). Replace clutch then refit the lot. It took me about 2 days on and off.

To be honest £600 sounds like a good price.

IIRC parts are £350. So to me £600 is a no brainer.£250 to save you the hassle is well worth it in my opinion

When I did mine I shopped around and the cheapest I found was about £900, so £600 is a very good price.

Like TD says, do you like laying on cold floors!
