Hello, I have a couple of problems, and any assistance to solve them is most welcome.

Firstly, everytime I turn on my laptop I have to go to wirelss settings and select 'allow windows to configure wireless network' before I can connect to the network. Why does it do this? Once I've done this I then need to disconnect from the network and reconnect before it works.

Secondly, when I type an adress into IE or when I click on a link I usually get 'this page cannot be displayed' or sometimes it opens the msn search page even if the address is correct. Hitting refresh a couple of times gets the page to load. Mozilla displays a message box saying page could not be opened. I'm on 2Mb NTL. (I reckon its prob NTLs fault)

What do you think?

I'd try the IE using an ethernet cable direct to the NTL modem first (need to power cycle it after swapping the cables) to eliminate the router as the problem, then the cable direct to the router to eliminate the wireless link.

As for the other thing, try removing & installing the latest drivers from the web for your wireless card.

Is something hijacking the network configuration on startup? I know Netgear offer a utility to setup and configure your wireless network which I believe is enabled by default when you install the hardware drivers. If you haven't set up something like this, then it'll take controll of the wireless config, but will have an empty config, whereas the window networking may know the setup. Might be worth investigating. Look into your system tray icons in the bottom right when you first startup and see if any relate to wireless networking.
