hope he's ok.It certainly was a monster shunt. Made me wince just watching it on TV. 
He was really unlucky to get spun around and take the hit on the driver's side (rhd drive car) as most shunts there - and there aren't that many - involve the car going off forwards and taking the impact on the nearside.

I was opposite the accident in the pit lane when it happened and it was a massive shunt.
I also saw Mike in the back of the Medical car on his way to the Medi Centre and he looked very grim the main problem was he hit his head very hard on the roll bar.
Speaking with some of his Mechanic's afterwards I learned that he has been sedated and taken to Coventry Hospital.

Hope he's ok. The prang didn't look that bad from the the TV coverage.

You reckon, Angus? I thought the way he smacked the wall looked a bit vicious. Didn't Howard Redhouse break his ankle in a similar shunt during the Britcar 24 last year?

I'd just like to express my heartfelt thanks to everyone who helped me following my BTCC accident at Silverstone.
In particular, Dr Paul Trafford, the medical crews, rescue crews and marshals at the scene and the Coventry and Warwickshire air ambulance. Their professional care was outstanding.
I'd also like to thank Alan Gow, Bob Kettleboro and Dennis Carter from the BTCC organising team and apologise for messing up their timetable.
I'm feeling a bit groggy and my ribs are sore, but I hope to out of hospital in a day or two. I remember hitting the back of Jason Plato and then waking up in hospital! It was no one's fault, just one of those classic racing accidents.
Finally, thanks to all the teams, drivers and fans who have shown an interest in my condition!

I hit that wall hard the saturday before and I can assure you that was a very bad smack Mike had
