hi after chasing and passing one or two bmw ones on the motorway my poor classic mini now sounds abit ill it sounds like the exhaustis blowing back out of the carb and air filter could this meen that the head gasket has gone thanks david

If it was the gasket, you'd have no compression and no water. There'd be a petrol smell in the radiator and you'd have seen steam blowing out your exhaust.

Have you checked your oil pressure? Mebbe oil was a little thin? Mebbe fuel filter sucked up some crap as the pump was working harder?

hi it sounds like its running on 3 pots
no cat on this one
oil and water are fine
the sound is like when the exhaust is blowing at the lcb y pipe but it is not
i will take the head off in the morning and hope all the valves and pistons are ok

Sounds like one of your inlets had recest in the head. Check the valve clearances, easy to tell.

it was the head gasket between 2 and 3 pots just got to put it back togather now
