Afternoon PHers

Having seen many 'blanket' 40 and 50 mph limits imposed on perfectly safe single carriageway A and B roads I was reminded of a press release/document released by our beloved leaders a few months ago.

If i remember correctly (which I may not) this document laughably proposed that the maximum speed limit any road user should adopt on a single carriageway road.

it advised a maximum of 50 mph for single carriageway 'A' roads and 40 for 'B' roads.

Cue a flurry of indignant letter from numptyville imploring the authorities to reduce the speed limits of several very safe A and B roads local to me to these limits.

Anyone find this laughable piece of legislation?

I generally stick to the rules on the road and have a clean license and have never had an accident. Even I feel this is going well below the belt with regard to speed, and I'm a patient patient man.

The authorities are obviously trying to make using a car as abhorrant, boring, unjust and expensive as is feasibly possible. In an effort to try and force us onto expensive, unreliable, smelly, old, overcrowded and inconvienent public transport.

Please everybody, all the numpties are in voted positions. The local council elections are coming along, the general election is just a few years away, lets show the majorities unhappiness with our voting feet!! E-mail your MP, write letters to the local councils, we are the tax payers we pay for this to happen to us! It has to stop somewhere.
