Front number plate fell off!!!

Of all the things that I have read on here that could have gone wrong!!

At least it's nothing major, although I'm not entirely sure when I'll have time to put it back on.

I wonder how long I'll get away with driving it until i get pulled over........

I've got no front plate on.

If there's anything wrong with the back one, wrong colour etc, you'll probably get done. If not the chances of getting stopped are slim.

Strangely enough, now I don't have TVR plastered in 3 inch letters across the front of the car, a lot more people are gawping at it trying to figure out what it is........

I was thinking about not running one on my polo , but it left a big gap. So I stuck it on, its cleeaan no screw holes etc.

I'd agree with you on that . I have considered getting one done in the not too distant, but I don't think it improves the look. I'm not saying I wouldn't get it done if the front end needed work/respray, just I coudn't justify the expense/pleasure ratio ifkwim.

Hands up those with the sticker type number plate and how many, if any, 'pulls' have you had and does it help keep things cooler in summer

Thanks Paul, made me smile seeing that piccy again.

Last time I had the front done, I got them to get rid of the holes where the plates were & I used some self adhesive stickers for a bit.

As said, the only time I've had a tug was when I had the black plates on the back (that looks much better than the yellow ones, along side those tinted rear lights).

I've had a petrol station refuse to serve me for not having a front plate.

On that photo above, I'd been to Italy, on the way back the French police stopped me leaving a toll & asked where It was. I said the car had overheated & showed him the plate in the boot, I offered to put it on & he said it didn't matter & let me go. I then got stopped by British customs, there was a demo outside the ferry port, and he mentioned that there was a load of police there that might stop me, so I stuck it back on (stayed on a day)

I'm having another front end spray soon, but I'll keep the original headlights, I like the new style ones as well, but i want to keep the car original (ish)...until I can afford a later 4.5 that is

We've got a stick on one on our mx-5, and I've not been stopped yet, although someone did mention it once that it might not be readable by the speed cameras because of the angle.

Where did you get the stickers plate from ?

It came with the car - but I've seen them in Caravan shops.
