Morning all,

I have been having idle problems with my 911. Sometimes, pretty random, the revs drop off while at idle, get a rattle in the bottom end, then pics up immediately and back to a steady idle.

Any ideas, MAF sensor?

I think idle problems can be one of 50 things so will pop down to the OPC.

Could be a dirty idle control valve. Don't know where it is on a 996 but it is often a simple job to remove it, clean it and replace it (well, it was on the wife's Audi!). Or maybe the throttle position switch, as that has a hand in operating the ICV.

You're right ......could be one of 50 things......

996 MAF is only about £155 from Euro car parts, btw.

it's not only cars for sale that have a high mark up at OPCs
