Idling Problem....

..but not on the Griff. Mk2 Golf Gti shopping trolley dies completely at idle, otherwise running fine. I would clean the stepper motor, but it doesn't seem to have one.
If only everything in life was as reliable as the Griff...

an airleak is the biggest idle problem on an L-jetronic equipped car (if i am right)

Check near the AFM for splits in the pipe?

Or on the cast inlet manifold there is a grub screw that will have a spring under it (cant remember where) try adjusting that I have had this on all 3 of my GTI's

I get exactly the same on mine, a mk2 gti, there is a screw on the phlenum just to the right of the large intake hose and is facing towards the front of the car, first wind this in fully taking note of how many turns, then unscrew it, clean the tip, same as the griff one, then wind it back in and back it off the right amout of turns, also a good squirt of injection/intake cleaner before you replace the screw, and a good squirt in the intake helps as well.
