Advice and Knowledge of PH needed

Need some help and advice I am looking at buying at TVR Chimera/Griffith more than likely a Chimera taking into account the current prices in about 6 months I am currently saving some much needed pennies.
I will have a budget of about £13k for a car I am not fussy about the engine or spec of the car etc, only that it is in very good condition for its age (I am looking at the moment for the money at a 1994 4.0l, with average mileage for this type of car anything under 50k would be OK? which I do not think is asking too much) and have a full service history with the receipts to back it up.
My intention is to keep this car for 5 years if not much longer, it will not though be my only car. Therefore my question is will I be able to buy a decent car for this money bearing in mind the length of time I would like keep it. I am very happy to get my hands dirty to look after it and it will be garaged.
The reason I am asking is that I have not looked seriously at any cars because I know that I will not be able to wait for another 6 months (the head will have to rule the heart on this). Therefore I need to ask your advice.

Alex, have a look at my car in my profile... I think it completely describes your requirements (no its not for sale)... you'll get a very tidy 4.0 with low mileage, f/e stonechip respray and full history for the money you are talking about.

Mines probably going to be up for sale in late spring early summer, just booked in for 48k service at joolz, in all fairness could do with a front end respray but I would leave that to the new owner as I'd have it done, drive to work and get a great big chip the next day knowing my luck, the cars in my profile drop me a line in a few months
