2006 R6 values
Discussion
Just spoke to the dealer that supplied my bike with regards to the new R1. They reckon its going to cost just under 9k & the first bikes will be coming through around december time. They have no waiting lists as yet but expect them to start building in the next couple of week (bikeshow obviously).
I also asked about trading in the R6 against one. They offered my £5.25k. To buy the bike from me outright (no p/x) they said they would offer no more than £4k.
I'm in 2 minds whether to convert it to a track bike or sell it & buy another in March time as I know I won't use it. £4k though
Think if I could get £5k for it now I'd sell.

If you really want to sell why not try as many free advertising methods as you can or MCN or Bike Trader. The dealer way is the easier way out and gets rid of all the tyre kickers, time wasters and worry that a space cadet may want to test ride your bike before they buy. I have always part ex'd my bikes as I have always wanted another road bike. If you are thinking of running a track bike next year why not keep it and sell all the road bits, and if you do want another road bike buy something when you can or when surplus funds allow.
I have seriously thought about changing my 05 R1 for an 07 R1 but I can't really justify it, I use my bike everyday as a commuter and on the occasional weekend blast and track day and to be honest it still makes me smile when I ride it even though it has done 22,000 miles
, so you can gather that my R1 is worth not a lot to a dealer in p/x. I'm going to keep it and maybe get something entirely different in a year or so to sit along side it in the garage as it will be worth about £1,000 in two years time with intergalactic mileage on it.
