High Level Brake Light
Discussion
Just picked up a 4.2 last Saturday! Really am chuffed, what a car! Apart from the Alarm going off at 4.30am Sunday morning and not deactivating!
Anyway, as I was driving home my Dad was following me and he wondered why it didn't have a high level brake light, what with the car being so low he said the lights were not in peoples usual level of vision. Nowadays, car lights have crept up the C pillars to the roof!
Having read recently of a couple of rear end shunts, has anyone fitted an additional brake light to a Cerb? If so, which sort was used?
Bit of a boring topic I know, but having just seen the potential cost of repairs!
Thanks

I think unless these are professionally installed or a factory fit, they look like crap, fall down, and the light can refelect off the screen. Also in the cerb you don’t have much viewing area.
I think they’re EU reglatory or something, so I expect to see them on future TVR’s.
Hopefully the Cerbera II.

Hopefully a little smaller than that, they always look very naff to me.
AFterburner style lights make a hell of alot of difference... the standard fiesta jobbies are absolutely pathetic.

I bought a high level brake light for mine.A thin strip L.E.D one.I intended to put it at the top of the rear screen.Problem was that when i wanted to hide the wires behind the roof lineing i found that the material is bonded to the glass,so im stuck with it still sitting in the packet.
Resurrecting my own thread from over 14 years ago!
At (long) last I have fitted a high level brake light. Admittedly I was Cerb-less for about 7 years.

I think it adds to the safety aspect, especially when being closely followed by an SUV and I can only see the grille in my rear view mirror. It even comes on a fraction of a second quicker than the existing bulbs. My son says it's good and bright, even more noticeable when the usual lights are on as they just go a bit brighter when the brakes are applied.

Looks good. Does it just fit underneath the alarm LED? How is it attached?
There's still a bit of work in progress on the attachment. It's only one of these:https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/32LED-Universal-Car-Thi...
...which at the moment is just stuck on the inside of the glass, but the unit is so light I think I can trim the mounting brackets so the pads that hold it disappear behind the black band around the glass.

I have heard that they are gonna introduce them over here as compulsory MOT articles so I'll order a couple (as soon as they become available again).
