This winter I intend to replace my frayed, stained, shrunk and faded carpets with a new set.
Is coverdales the best place to get a set from or are there other suppliers?
Has anyone who has replaced theirs produced an idiots guide (yes I am!) on how best to go about it?

Cheers

I researched it pretty thoroughly before I replaced mine last year. Coverdale were certainly the de facto choice, although someone on here said their prices have shot up recently. I found them very helpful and got about a dozen samples out of them for colour selection. Search "carpets" and you should find a guide.

Coverdale have indeed raised their prices to:

Latex backed carpet set - £294.00.
80/20 wool carpet set - £375.00.

I asked why and got this response:

We did recently have a price increase. All prices for carpet sets are now based on the quantity of carpet in the set and the time taken for manufacture. The TVR sets were well underpriced before.

Sorry to hijack your thread, but I too have faded navy carpets that are yellowed in various places. I'd rather not replace them as they're not actually worn out. Any recommendations of things to re-colour them with? I tried shoe dye but it came off on my wife's cream jacket..oops!

I used Renovo's navy hood dye ... the stuff the sell for restaining the roof. It isn't a perfect colour match and if you dollop it on too enthusiastically it can stiffen the carpet, but it is quite a bit better than nothing and seems to fix quite well.

Allow a couple of days or so depending on how many tea breaks you need.

The seats have to come out (make sure you use sealant when you bolt them back in), roof off and tunnel cover thingy loosening. It's not technically demanding but take your time.
