Hi Folks,

Do goodyear make a GSD3 in 245/45 R16 or are only the F1/GSD2's available in this size?

Any real difference between the D3's and D2's, or should one opt for a different tyre say a Conti sports for my rears, currently I have GSD'3 205's on the front

Cheers

The Goodyears are not Porsche Approved, where the Conti's etc are, I'm not sure if this makes a lot of difference though.

When I spoke to the tyre dealer though they recommended the N rated tyres over the F1's which are similar money.

I've got F1's on my Skoda and there pretty good, I am tempted to put some on the 968 in the new year, they have to be better than the Avon zz1's on it at the moment!

As a second option anyone had experience of Toyo Proxes T1-R?

I put some GSD3's on the front and it transformed the car. Much more stable over bumpy roads and plenty of grip for road work.

Yup they hugely improved mine when fitted as well.
Not being N rated is relavent, for older pork anyway.

Agreed.

My 3.2 was miles better on N raed Michelin Pilot Sport than on Pirelli no descript tyres.

I sell the odd Porsche now, and definately believe that N rating is important
