Assuming that there is a transfer to Europe, and not just closure, it will take months.

1) What will the dealer network do with no cars to sell?
2) How will the three year warranties be honoured? Presumably the dealers will have to absorb the costs?
3) I wonder how many deposits the factory are sitting on? (Not many presumably)

I feel so sorry for the whole network.

Moving manufacturing shouldn't affect this - it's still the same company (unless he's very sly!) and it wouldn't be the best business move to alienate all of the high-value customers that have bought new cars over the last 3 years... the ones that are likely to be repeat purchasers!

A good number have other streams of income thankfully, whether Lotus/Noble/Morgan or more mainstream brands.

Hopefully they won't lose out financially, as people will move to those other brands.

a) There ain't that many of them, but even so, to ditch the liability might be a move

The dealer network is falling apart, at my local TVR dealership they have two new cars and no possibility of getting any other new ones for some time. Does NS think these businesses will just wait for him to start building cars again. With any business you have to make sales to pay the staff, no sales no staff, ,the dealers will go under without products to sell.

..or find other income streams & ditch the TVR marque

Marcos maybe! I'm TVR through and through and I'm hoping to purchase a saggy, but the Marcos looks a good car.

1. Some dealers(eg TVR Centre) who saw this coming have already taken on other brands.
2. I doubt any dealer will do any warranty work unless the factory have agreed to pay them.
3. If I had a car on order I would do whatever I could to get out of it, suspect others might think the same way.

So far NS has done very little he said he would do, the latest thing he has said is that they are moving to Europe - what will he say next month?

The dealers will be in a tough situation. If you bought a car from the dealer your contract of purchase lies with them therefore they are responsible for defects that may arise........... Making them see it this way however could be a different proposition entirely........... Maybe a legal bod could confirm the situation for those of you who will need the advice... Offers ??
Steve.

I think the situation for year one(sale of goods etc) might be slightly clearer than years two and three.
Like you say need a legal person on it.

If they've sold a vehicle with three year warranty, then that's what they will need to provide.
