power steering leak
Discussion
Power steering leak!! had the same on my GTS-R tightened jubilee clips all sorted til 4months later when pump went tits and fluid came out of shaft seal, boys at monkfish and LSV very good at sorting out, tried stripping pump down myself and would of suceeded if hadn't bent the pulley trying to remove from shaft...*note to all to disassemble fully and refurb pump is easy if you do from back end, seal itself was only 8quid and apart from that there is an O-ring no bearings inside*
Mine leaked because one of the mounting bolts for steering pump came loose causing the pulley to run out of alignment therefore causing excess movement laterally creating leak!!!!(only 0.5-1mm) you have been warned.
Hope jubilee tightening works.. ohh yeah the jubilees are rubbish there is a much better option that grips hose all the way round which I can't give info on as still in Thailand but once I get back to work I will get info of the packet!!! at post it they are slightly bulkier so restricted spaces become problem but if they can handle 9bar of pressure in contstant use without popping off they get my vote.
Cheers
Nick

Doubt it Brian it's a GTS VT2!
Must have bought it from a dealer of some sort, should have a minimum of 3 months by law.
Ah, beg your pardon, was under the impression it was an E-bay purchase. Thought Stuart had gone overboard with the extended warranty question for a minute!
If there's a jubilee clip on it from the factory, then its a low pressure line, usually the return.
In fact if the rubber hose is soft at all, its just a normal lowish pressure hose., So regardless of what the clamps claim....more than likely jubilee clips will be fine.
The feed from pump to rack, MUST be high pressure hydraulic hose. I dont know exactly what pressures they run at, but they could be a few hundred psi.
Another point worth noting....ATF/PAS fluid is flammable.
