I was in Munich this year bloody fantastic. germans are mad as hatters. 100,000 people all getting pissed and no trouble. loved it.

To keep it Porsche related saw plenty of 964's and a few of those inferior newer kind

Mmm nice beer-frau.
Back to the OP - Spaten is surely the finest.

Adam, Augustiner tastes good, but is bottled headache.

Hacker-Pschorr Braumeister Pils gives reliable results though hehe

Lowenbrau Oktoberfest is very good, but the conoisseur's pick is the Paulaner Oktoberfest Marzen. Quite often on the Majestic website. It's spectacular.

Ok well after sampleing as a few steins in as many different tents I could find I have to say I didnt find a bad one

not really a fan of the weissbier though so id go with lowenbrau out of those 2 choices

did enjoy a few steins in the Hoff brau house over a snitzsel and a pretzle or 2 in the town as well.

fraulines in pigtails and traditional dress probably took my mind off the flavour though.

I think I would go for the Paulanader Dunkel Fest special they tank in for this and tap up from the back of the lorry almost!

germnay is the best place for beer and having lived there for 3 years the local ones are always the best.

Krombacher was a good national beer.

Braunschweiger Lokal was a personal fave.

you couldn;t beat the Starkebiezzeit in May in berlin when the Doppel Mai Urbock used to come out of the taps at 8%!

bloody love the counrty and their people and the cars they make! shame Europe will ruin it all eventually!

No that seemed to be a good topic for some reliable comparisons of German produce!!

All good advice - I'm going to Oktoberfest nxt yr and hope to sample some more!

Also, majestic - good website - been on there tonight.

Cheers,

AD.

PS. Keeping the Porsche related line, I assume 993 is not counted as being inferior!!!

Pauliner + bestist roast chicken in the world. Doesn't get better (well, it could, but have to wait till next year to get the missus in beerfrau costume with pigtails.mmmm).

And driving there and back in pork, then thru black forest for the weekend away.

Just got me a case of the Paulaner and also another of Lowenbrau at Majestic in Darligton (I was on way to Teeside airport to picj up the guy who bought my Audi S4).

Paulaner - a bit sweeter than Lowenbrau, very good.

Impressed.

Thanks for the tip guys!
