look in major mods i think the guy is still developing it, i seem to remember it was a RV8 in a kit car.if i had the time i would love to go down this road, jap quality T/Bs and aftermarket ECU,performance & tractability would be superb, showing no restrictions on furthur tuning, ooooh and that induction sound....set up properly fuel consumption would be good also,i doubt better though you would keep nailing it.

altiss engineering currently do Honda CBR 600 carbs for a Rover V8 among others....Custom jobs are a speciality..He makes one off intake manifold`s...uses GSXR 1100 carbs on other models like Zetecs too....depending on the size of engine they should be able to size up and jet an appropriate carb and linkeage system...Very good performance results too and easy to fix and maintain I should think...Try Googling `Redvictor1`( or 2 )to see the webpage ... scroll down to his sponsers....Altiss engineering...then click the custom manifold section..injection throttle bodies may be more expensive/complicated...but possible nevertheless...

There are a couple of Griffs that have a 8 Jenvey throttle setup based on the John Eales system that was fitted to my 5.2 engine in the Wedge - now supercharged. Such solutions have been round for several years. It is not cheap because of all the mods that are needed and especially as it really does need an aftermarket ECU but it is the only way to go for real power.

How do you manage to filter the air in this kind of set-up,without cutting holes in the bonnet i mean!Any pics please?

i would imagine if using T/Bs you could keep the height down and run a fabricated airbox in ally or carbon then trunk down to front panel air cleaner like standard set/up,wouldent like to comment on carbs though they would protrude much more.

sorry socks look crap and restictive , and can you imagine the heat having 8 trumpets with socks on would be passing into the motor, unless of course you had a cold feed/duct,to be honest with you this would be the least of your worries trying to map the system & the time neccesary to get it up and running might be.this mod interests me more than lots of the other work you can carry out, free HP tractability, no downsides, well free....ish.i would imagine a 4litre with carefully selected mods spiky cam etc & this set/up would give a 5litre a good run for its money, just more work keeping up,less torque of course.

I am toying with the same idea myself over the next few months.

I found this at Altiss Engineering altiss.com

They are CBR600 but show how it would look. Not sure about height and clearance under bonnet.

I will definitely not cut a hole in my bonnet.

Steve what sort of power does it produce? No doubt you have a radical cam onboard, what are the engines manners like?

The engine manners were impecable. Compared to the triple throttle plenum I used to run which was lumpy below 3000 rpm and needed to idle at 1000, this was smooth and idled at around 450 rpm. Power was around 400 ish but it was running a hairy cam and 12;1 CR. DTA mapped ignition and ECU system. Whole lot of John Eales magic went into it. The key to it is getting the throttles and mapping done so that everything is balanced.

It has now been supercharged. Was hitting 500bhp on the dyno but I've reduced the boost for the initial installation in the Wedge so there is only 475 lbft and 450ish bhp. The engine was hitting 360bhp/360 lb/ft N/A with a mild 218 cam and 9:1 CR
