Last weekend I went down a massive pot hole while turning in a layby I smashed the diffuser but nowhere near as expensive as that will be. Hope it was a no fault insurance job.

I'd like to say someone run into me but they didn't, I reversed into a Ford Escort at the petrol station One sec it was clear the next it wasn't I was hardly moving - anywhere else on the clam but there, wouldn't have been so much of an issue I guess!!

I wouldn't worry too much about it, a good bodyshop should be able too re-shape it and get it looking like new for not too much money!! Hope that makes you feel a bit better anyway!!

Don't wish to put any downers out but I think that could be a big problem as its the pivot point. When my clam was smashed, I was told that it was irrepairable due the the pivot point being smashed off.

They can do wonders with the stuff though, and its not totally gone. (ie, the hole point is still in correct location.)

Not sure where in the country you are, but try Sinclair's. They are normally on hand at Bedford trackdays and are supposed to be able to work magic with elise clams.

I know it's a long way to come, Roush have a tame bodyshop with experience of re-building broken clams.

That's stupid. I punched a 2 inch square hole in the rear clam and ripped the spoiler off pulling a good 3 inches with it. Less than £1000 and you can't see the damage at all.

Someone else here did much worse than yours in the same lower bracket area and that wasn't much either. Roush are on 01277 261400

Carl, take it to MSM in Winterton, they will do a sterling job, speak to Steve and tell him that Gaz with the 5 turbo and silver M3 sent you.

As people say, there are plenty of 'handy' GRP specalists that will do that for a fraction of the cost.

Ring Plans, they use a body shop called 355 who are magicians. They'll have it disparu in a jiffy and no stupid london labour rates.

Alternatively, know a decent chap in Sheffield, Dovedale motors.

Paint, fit, and blend in back of car I'd imagine.

With the Elise (simple split) it was £5000 when the clam costs £1100. I just let the insurance company pay it.
