Any pictorial contributions gratefully dribbled over.

Danker.

P.S. Feel free to comment as well, if not too self-incriminatory!

Interestingly, a quick Google threw this up (110mph on a skidoo):

from the interestingly titled HardcoreSledder.com - right up my street

Holy walrus, batman - 110 - on a bloody snowmobile?

Fabulous lunacy; well done Sir Ben, CBE, MBE, etc.

Something with wheels this time. Yes, it's in mph, and yes, that's 8,500rpm

Not mine btw. (Yet)

Is it my imagination or was his oil pressure dropping?

Anyway.. here's one of the dear old Primula.. on the way to LeMans in 2001 with a couple of fatlads
and several palettes of beer in tow... (& other lame excuses
for a crap speed in an even crapper car )

You'll notice we hadn't got to the red line yet.. but alas the road from Calais to Lemans wasn't long enough..
even with a run up most of the length of the Eurostar

Better still... thrashed hire cars.. here's an
utterly wrung out 1 litre Clio..

(Sorry about the blurring.. it sort of went like that at 170Km/h see... light was changeable)

Oh and an SLK which unfortunately was only intimate with its limiter (well, indicated 155 anyway)
whilst the photographer was asleep

Ahem.. all of these photos were taken outside of the UK of course..

Carzee,

Is that a 1 litre clio doing 180mph?

Well, they do say that hire cars are the fastest in the world...

like DeR said - Gratuitous Speedo Readings.. I gottem.. lol.. never managed quite to catch peak velocity in any of 'em, more's the pity.. I guess the cameraman doesn't have the steering wheel to hang onto for grim life

You can see some porker ones (amongst others) here:

www.texasgumball3000.com/speedometer_pics.html

there are a few other sites with some quite outlandish speeds illustrated .. marvellous

EEK, 61mph. Now there's gratuitous if ever there was...

note the annoying orange light telling me the left rear wheel's missing.

Thats a still IIRC of Faisal khan (Only cerb in america fame) on the way back from a holiday when he bought his second cerb (just before importing it to the US)

Anyway, as I said, its a still - he stayed at 180 for a while on the vid. Not too hard in a cerbera it has to be said - just the driver needs to have guts/nothing to live for
