Hello all, I've kind of jumped ship from the tvr forum (was considering a Chimaera but really need something more 'reliable'). I'm going to view the above tommorow. It's up for £9000 has fsh and 130,000 miles on the clock. First of all is there anything that needs to be checked on the car? I will probably get it inspected if I decide to purchase, so does anyone have any recommendations for this (I live in Hertfordshire)?

Cheers

I would advise a good ppi, and try to get a good drive in the car, also look at some of the other models available for the money your looking at:

944 s2 Cabrio
944 Turbo Cabrio
968 Cabrio
3.0 Sc Cabrio
3.2 Cabrio
964 Cabrio

A lot of those will fit your budget, with only the 3.2 and 964 stretching it a bit, the 944's will fit well within leaving you change, the car your looking at is not low mileage although it will certainly have many more miles left in it if it has been looked after.

I was in a similar position to you when I bought my 964 Cab, I started looking at 944's, then 968's then realised I could afford 911's and eventually fell in love with a 964 because for very little more money it gave me a lot more car.

I just bought a 89 3.2 cab, love it. After , 67 911, gt3, 993tt etc, thought may be underwelmed, but great, built like tank, tons of torque and I think will get cooler and cooler, imho forgot 968etc, you will always be broken driving pass a 911.

No you may seriously have to consider LHD for 9K, hence my comment of stretching budget

Although its funny when I ask about selling my 964 its apparently worth nothing, but when someone wants to buy one they are worth fortunes lol!

Not get a good 911 for 9k, whether has a roof or not.
Bottom line for a good solid one in my book unless you want to sit on the left is 10-11k, this may get you an average 3.2 or 964 or a good SC.
Better to pay more than get a lemon, also expect to pay 1k to 2k more for the Cab.
