Evening all,

Other than Rimmer Bros, any ides where I can get an ignition barrel for my 81' 280i? Its not quite the same using a screwdriver...

I'm told it is TR7 equip and Rimmer's aint got none!

You're right, it is TR7 but I think that the same item was also used in a Dolomite/Toledo with a different part number. When I replaced mine about 5 years ago (when Rimmers did have stocks), I went to a Unipart outlet and got it at half the price Rimmers wanted anyway so it might be worth trying your local MG/Rover dealer. Alternatively, Southern Triumph Services in Bournemouth are very helpful 01202 423687.

I bought a new lock cylinder for mine, drilled out the pin holding it in, re-tapped it for an M3 capscrew, and robert's yer mother's brother. New cylinder is about £35, after shipping from the USA.
