Clutch Slave Cylinder availability & Recomendation

My car has been in the garage for 2 weeks to get a new Clutch Slave cylinder fitted, They just can not get hold of one, Does anyone know where I can get one from.
Also Clever Trevor sells an uprated one, about twice the price of the standard one at £225.00, has anyone had one of these fitted, if so please let me know what you think of them, particulary those who had one fitted a long time ago. By the way he cant get any either but has some on order.

i think Joolz fitted an upgraded one to mine a few years ago, and since then i have not had a problem (touching wood as i type )

I've got a Clever Trevor slave (and clutch) in my car, I fitted it myself and can tell you its a quality piece of kit much better quality than the oe part. Some dealers are using the Clever Trevor parts too.

goto jools and get the raceproved kit far superior than the OE crap i reckon your never have a problem again its very well engineered IMHO AS PER MADMARK he also has the new improved clutch aswell

Tanks Guys - I thnk I'll go for that one, the price used to be £149 for the one made of stainless steel. but they stopped making that one and now do an alloy one for £225.00 (ouch)

Update time - Still in the garage, and no sign of the Slave Cylinder yet, were promised for last Friday, but I've now been told 'maybe end of this week' - Ahhh, the joys of Cerb ownership

Mine is on order from Clevor Trevor - he has 50 on order from the manufacturer, hopefully due in by the end of this week

Yes, removing the gearbox is the dificult bit

There are a couple of difficult bits, but nothing that a bit of determination can't sort out.
There is one allen key bolt that holds the bellhousing to engine that is a bit of a pig to get to.
Removing the gearbox (see I wasn't joking really) is a bit tricky, but not as tricky as getting it back in.
I've written a 'how to' guide, i'll upload it and post the link in a new thread.

Are you planning to do it with the car on axle stands, ramps or other?
I've got a pit which makes it easier for me, but it should be ok on ramps.

Dom will sort you without any problems.

Oh, change the clutch while your at it. It only does 25k. If it's SP6 change the starter motor as well if it hasn't been done in last year.

Cheers Dave - but the new one finally arrived on Friday - being fitted this week - improved Alloy one, PTFE & Nitride coated and with an extra seal to prevent the inner shaft centered better. So hopefully it will be back on the rod next weekend.
