As above really. 1992-1995 civic VTi. just woundering if theres anything thats notoriosly bad.

all the ones for sale have over 100,000 miles on the clock, but im presuming that this isnt a problem for the vtec engine?

Over 100k? Not in general, same as any high-mileage engine, really. VTEC system near-infallible.

Things to check:-

Gearbox - synchro, and diff if it's got one. And linkage. Honda 'boxes are one of their few weakpoints, at least on the performance cars.

There's also a wear issue...can't remember the term but there's a part that sits between the cam lobe and somewhere else and tends to wear slowly with use, reducing valve lift...sorry to be so vague but it was one conversation 2 years back.
