Spiders or RL 7's ?

Ive had my Cerb for around 5 months now and have started to think about the possibilty of upgrading the speedlines to the spiders. What concerns me is the ride quality as i use my car daily. Has anyone upgraded and wished they hadn't? I do think the cars look better with the spiders but looks are not everything i suppose?? Also, can anyone recommend where to buy them from as nothing is coming up in google.
You can pick up RL7s on ebay or on here for 300 - 400 quid for an excellent set including reasonable tyres.
18inch Spiders are over priced second hand. They stuff up the ride a little and make the turning circle worse.
If you know the manufacturer ;-) then you can get them for under £60 each.
If you buy them from a dealer they are over £200 each,
2nd hand from scrappies they are about £160 each.
Some people pay £1K for them 2nd hand with tyres from ebay!!
I bought mine individually from ebay (ended up with a set for under £150 or something like that). I then used www.pxwheels.com/ to swap for refurbed spiders (£200).
You then need new nuts, centre caps and steering lock stops.

Pros
Like the looks better than the RL's (although RL's in anthracite do look good)
Changed from Bridgestone SO-3's to Toyo's difference is unbelievable (not really
anything to do with the spiders I know)
Can get the Toyos for 80 each corner, I think the 17" tyres are dearer.
Cons
Really easy to kerb them - bugger
Turning circle is reduced but not by that much really
With 35mm profile they are easy to buckle - 40mm profile gives a better protection
Have you had a look at the alternative spider wheel - I think its the SP from Silverstone ?

There is another alternative, these are the same wheels as the Boss Cerbera has. They are quite a bit lighter than Spiders and a wider wheel can be fitted to the rear to allow wider rubber. Can't remember what they are called but I think they look as good as if not better than Spiders.

Silverstone Performance SP12.
Weigh 9kg each instead of 12kg for the spiders. Makes a significant difference to unsprung mass. + the benefit of wider tyres and less risk of curbing.

Would some kind soul please do a bit of photoshopping for me. I'm absolutely usless at stuff like that. Not driven the car since Le Mans Classic when I banged up the rims and the suspension, and have been looking at the alternatives to Spiders.
I could post a pic of my car if someone would offer to do this for me.

Each to their own, but I agree & IMHO the RL's look better. Shame the 18" RL's are prone to cracking as I have a set in the garage that I'd love to fit, even just the rears as I think the existing 17" fill the front arch nicely but the rears 'could' be bigger. Saying that I still might just fit them so I can get bigger rubber to put the power down
