This is probably a mechanical fault as opposed to a sensor one but my milometer stopped just as it was about to go to 40000 with the numbers now lined up diagonally. I've reset the trip meter and that stays at 0000 too. Speedo is ok though.

So, is it just a mechanical jam (but would the trip also break?)?

If so, are speedo's easy to get at?

If not a jam, what?

This is fairly common.
Don't worry about it. Just wait and see what happens. It'll probably sort itself out fairly soon.

If you search the forum for odometer, you'll find a few threads about it.

Here's one

to start you off

How weird. Mine has done exactly the same thing at the same mileage.

Will try the taptap, tappitytaptapTAP trick.
