Pothole complaints line starts

Londoners can help keep the capital's roads in good condition
A hotline has been set up to deal with complaints about problems on London's streets.
Until now people have had to call separate numbers, depending on which area was affected.
The problems include faulty traffic lights, potholes and broken paving slabs.
The new 24-hour number is being promoted by Transport for London Street Management (TfLSM).
When a fault is reported the caller will be given a reference number which will enable them to keep track of the fault.
London Mayor Ken Livingstone said: "When I became mayor, I learnt of the full extent of the problems with London's main roads.
"They are in desperate need of an overhaul and having assessed their state we can now get on with making improvements.
"No one knows the state of London's roads better than the people who use them every day."
Londoners will be able to report faults by calling 0845 305 1234 or visiting the TfLSM website.
Pity there is not a national pothole complaints line.
