Since buying my S3 I have wanted to change the steering wheel but encountered numerous problems and it has taken me some time to do it.

Last night i fitted a leather replacement to the wood skinny wheel (thanks Roy ) and it is amazing the difference in relation to the vibration. It feels as if I am driving a standard saloon rather than the S that used to transmit any slight road bumps straight to your hands. I thought it might make a slight difference, but am absolutely amazed.

ok mate - post weekend. interior still needs some work though to get where i want. When summer comes (and the new house gives me garage and space to work in ) the carpet will be replaced with metal flooring - elise et al style. mats will be bolted on top.

So, you'll be changing it back then?

Phil, I'm sorry it has turned your S into a saloon!
That wooden wheel must have been a real boneshaker.

Is this a reference to MGFs being a hairdresser's car?

Perhaps you are a comedian after all

If I had driven with the roof down this morning, I would have got my hair washed for free - it was pi**ing down here.

It would be nice to be able to get in the car to drive to work on a morning! Working from home has its downsides!

Roy.

How true. I have to drive 20 miles to work and even it's way too short a journey these days.

You have my comiserations Roy.
