differnces between same model of Tasmin 280

hi,

drove another 280 home from uk 2 days ago. the car was built 1982. compared to my existing one (also from 1982) the following differnces:

smiths instruments (instead of SW stage), non- powersteering (my old one has it...hehe, very rare-->i know), standard TVR shocks and (now here it comes):

engine much more lively, more exeleration, brakes more efficant (like a differnt brake-system), steering more direct, suspension and road-behaviour more comfortable and safe, same fuel-consumption...why these differnces?

the brakes are standard, engine is standard, suspension is standard with normal-old bushes, standard-shocks and coils...


When i compare my existing one to a 2+2 coupe (i owned in the past) it was the same:

the 2+2 had an even poorer performance, a lousy suspension, brakes more or less same, with fading and, and, and....

are these differences normal in the production of TVR?

No, they're normal because the cars are 24 years old. Some have been well maintained, some haven't.

i dont think it has only to do with maintanance. the "new" one i bought has no history, definately not well maintained over the last years, but surprisingly the faster engine and the better brakes. even shifting the gearbox feels differnt.

its not that i think sitting in a differnt car, but it feels like an improved car.
