I have a lot of gear and tend to use a large backpack. I fancied trying out a shoulder bag and did buy a Crumpler December Quarter bag yesterday. It seemed big enough to get all the stuff in and was the appeared to be the best choice in the store. Unfortunately the Crumpler is very cumbersome to carry and also looks ridiculous when worn.

I intend to return the Crumpler to the dealer (who said that would be fine), any suggestions as to which make and type of bag I should consider in its place.

TIA

NIck

Nick

You could try the Lowepro Reporter series. I've a Reporter 300 for three or four years now and it's taken all I can chuck at it and has protected my kit well. You might need one of the larger ones but it all depends on what you're packing in there. In the 300 I can get D2X, 24-85, 70-200 and then one other lens e.g 105 macro or 12-24

Cheers

Try a Tamrac Pro 8.
Used one in Kenya recently on safari with a largish Panasonic videocamera, Canon D30 SLR, 3 lens, various chargers and leads, batteries, memory cards etc etc. Easy to carry and you can carry an SLR with big lens horizontally across the top.
Very pleased with this case, lots of room and easy to handle/use.

I even bought it in a real shop!! (not online)

Thanks for the advice,

I went for a Lowepro Stealth Reporter 550 (thanks Chris) which cost 9 quid more than the crumpler. Its fantastic!

Its taken the 2 bodies, 70-200, 100-400, 15-35, flash, 24- 85, small tripod all with ease. plus its comfortable to wear (if a little heavy!)

well chuffed
