The MySQL functionality of PHP seems to have uninstalled istelf. Myself and Ric355 are currently trying to figure out how to reset it.

In plain English, it means that for the time being we can't connect to the database because the software is FUBAR

If you want a third opinion do drop me a line, it's been a while since I've installed PHP & MySQL but it's like riding a bike...

Isn't it?

We think we've got to the bottom of it

Phoned support this morning to see if they'd altered anything on the server. Modules don't just update themsleves on their own...

"We haven't touched your server sir" they said

So me and Ric spend a few hours trying to figure out why the MySQL module has disappeared and working out how to add it back in

Gave up eventually so just phoned them back to see if I could pay them to re-install PHP
"Are you getting a blank screen?" he asks

"Err yes..." I said

"Oh we updated your Fedora Operating system last night. The PHP needs to be re-configured before it will work again. We'll do that for you"

Why the **** didn't they say that when I first called !!!!!!!!!!

F****ING tossers!!!!

Should be back on today sometime but they couldn't say when

Is it a dedicated server offering? Why on earth do they have access, and rights to modify your server? Remove any SSH keys; Remove any non-essential accounts and change the root password. Disable yum, review cron etc etc

Yes it's a dedicated server.

Apparently we've signed up for regular OS updates. News to me

Last time they updated something they left it high and dry

I'll be changing all passwords...
