Wow - what a final!
Sorry for anyone that was out there getting soaked, if it's any consolation I popped to the pits for half an hour and experienced the horror of today's weather. But it certainly made things interesting.
We had a few guys from Jamun racing join us for the final, so it was a shame to see Nathan Freke drop out but they seemed to be heartened by Jay Bridger's solid drive to third, promoted to second later on - especially since most of Jay's sponsors were next door to us!
An amazing fighting drive from Nick Tandy provided plenty of entertainment - he tried to take the lead early on but was hung out to dry (wet?) by Freke putting him on the grass at Druids, which bundled him down to the tail of the field - but it looked a bit dodgy when he claimed back his place in the queue behind the safety car after spinning at Graham Hill (although as I write the results are still provisional and I'd claim Tandy the moral winner)
So it looks like Richard Tannahill has taken the honours - well done to him, just a shame that controversy has taken the edge of an entertaining race.
Finally, there were, predictably, a few nasty crashes and a couple of drivers left the circuit in medical vehicles. Here's hoping they all make full recoveries.

I was 'out there' in the pi55ing rain with my brother! Agree with you, Kevin, what a race! Certainly Nick Tandy was the moral victor although we did wonder how the hell he managed to make up a handful of places under the safety car.

And there certainly a few of them, although the scariest crash we saw was the one that put Peter Dempsey out. He was recovering from a spin and accelerating up the hill when a faster car pulled out of the slipstream of the one it was following and, unsighted in the spray, went right over the top of Dempsey!
Superb racing all through the day (apart from the lacklustre Ford saloon encounter, which, in their defence, was put together at the last minute) and worth getting a bit damp for.

Emma didnt make it off the grid after stalling on the line and got shunted very very hard from behind (no joke intended) by someone completing there 1st lap! She was taken off to hospital and i do hope that she is ok and makes a good recovery!
I do hope that Tandy looses the appeal, hitting a few cars, forcing others out the way with over enthusiastic lunges and overtaking on yellows and the safety car! His antics were a disgrace to formula ford and i do hope endorsement points are also awarded to him.
I saw a few lunges were other drivers were either hit, or forced to move right out the way for a fear of getting damage!
Tannahil, Bridger, Doran, Burke all drove a great race and kept clear of trouble and deserve there positions.
If Tandy wins then i feel Tannahill was Robbed of the Festival!
